Adding a Student to a Class
This article walks through adding an existing student to a class. If you need to create a brand-new student record, see Adding a New Student instead. For adding many students at once, see Bulk Import Students into a Class.
From the Students List
From the dashboard, click the Students main-navigation option.

Find the student you want to add, click their action button, and select Insert into Class.

A modal will open asking for the destination class:
- Class (required): the class the student will be added to. A student can be in multiple classes at once.

Click insert. You’ll be redirected to the student list for the class.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a student be in multiple classes?
Yes. Adding a student to a new class does not remove them from any previous classes — the same student record can appear in as many classes as you need.
The student is already in the class — what happens?
PaperScorer detects the existing membership and skips the action with a friendly notice; no duplicate is created.
I have lots of students to add to a class.
For more than a handful, use Bulk Import Students into a Class — you can re-upload the same CSV with existing students and PaperScorer will simply add them to the class rather than create duplicates.
I want to remove a student from a class.
Open the class, find the student in the class roster, and use the action menu to remove them. Their student record and scan history stay in your account — only the class membership is removed.
