Disconnecting Your Clever Account

This article covers how to disconnect your Clever account from PaperScorer, and answers common questions about what happens when you do.

Enterprise feature. Clever integration is available to enterprise PaperScorer customers.

How to Disconnect

From any page in the application, click your profile image in the top-right corner to open the account menu, then click Manage Your Account.

From your account page, click Connected accounts in the left navigation. Then, to disconnect:

  1. Check the box confirming you wish to disconnect your Clever account.
  2. Click Confirm disassociation.

PaperScorer will no longer have access to your Clever data. You can reconnect at any time using the same flow as the initial setup.

What Disconnecting Does (and Doesn’t Do)

Disconnecting only removes the link between the two systems. It does not delete data on either side.

  • OAuth access is revoked. PaperScorer can no longer read your Clever rosters.
  • Imported classes and students stay in PaperScorer. They remain available for printing, scanning, and grading just as before.
  • Clever-side data is untouched. Since PaperScorer never pushes data back to Clever (Clever has no grade book), there’s nothing on the Clever side to remove.
  • Your district’s Clever-to-PaperScorer authorization is unaffected. Disconnecting your own account does not undo the district-level approval — other teachers can still connect.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to re-import my classes when I reconnect?

No. Your existing PaperScorer classes stay where they are. You’d only re-import to pull a fresh roster from Clever (for example, after enrollment changes).

Can I still sign in to PaperScorer after disconnecting Clever?

Yes, as long as you have another sign-in method set up (email/password, Google, etc.). If Clever is your only sign-in method, set a PaperScorer password from the account settings page before disconnecting so you’re not locked out.

Can I reconnect using a different Clever account?

Yes, but classes imported under your previous Clever account stay tied to their original Clever IDs. The new Clever account must have teacher access to those classes (in the district’s SIS roster) for future roster re-imports to succeed.

My district revoked PaperScorer in their Clever dashboard — what happens?

The next time PaperScorer tries to use the Clever connection, the request will fail. Your imported classes and students stay in PaperScorer, but you can’t pull fresh rosters until district authorization is restored. Contact your district’s Clever administrator if you believe this is a mistake.

I’m having trouble reconnecting — what should I check?

Confirm with your district administrator that PaperScorer is still enabled in the district’s Clever dashboard, and that your account is still in their roster. Contact PaperScorer support if problems persist.
