Connecting Your Account to Canvas

This article will walk you through the process of connecting your Canvas account to your PaperScorer account.

NOTE: Your Canvas administrator needs to perform the initial set up step to allow PaperScorer to access your Canvas instance. If your Canvas administrator has not set up the initial connection, please review our Setting Up Canvas Connection to PaperScorer help documentation.

There are a variety of ways the PaperScorer application will prompt you to connect your Canvas account to your PaperScorer account. This article will focus on creating and import class data into PaperScorer.

From any page in the application, click on the create button, then select the Class option from the create menu dropdown.

After select the class option from the create menu dropdown, you will be presented with another modal to select a method for creating a new class. Select the Canvas import option. (You may see additional options in the screenshot below.)

After selecting the Canvas import option from the previous modal, you will be presented with information on how to connect your Canvas account. If you have already connected your Canvas account, you will be presented with an option to import one or more Canvas classes. (This is covered in another help document.) You will be prompted to input the domain URL for your Canvas instance. (example: paperscorer.instructure.com) After you input your Canvas domain URL, click on the Connect Canvas button.

If you are not already logged into the correct canvas account, please log in. After logging in, you will be presented with a permission screen. On this screen you will need to click on the Authorize button to complete the authorization process.

After clicking the authorize button, you will be redirected back to the PaperScorer app and your Canvas account will be connected for future use.
