Upgrade Your Account to a Teacher Pro Account
This article walks through upgrading your PaperScorer account to Teacher Pro, what Teacher Pro unlocks, and the two ways you can purchase the upgrade.

A Teacher Pro upgrade lasts one year from the day it’s applied to your account.
Starting the Upgrade
From any page in the application, click the orange Upgrade account button.
You’ll be redirected to the account upgrade page, where you have two options:
- Purchase an upgrade with a credit card (auto-renewing annual subscription).
- Apply a one-time activation code.
Option 1: Upgrade With a Credit Card
From the account upgrade page, click Purchase upgrade.
A modal will pop up asking for your credit card information.
NOTE: PaperScorer does not store or process your credit card information. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a trusted third-party payment processor with industry-standard security.
- Card number: your credit card number.
- Card expiration date: the month and year on the card.
- Card CVV/CVC number: the 3- or 4-digit security code on the card.
- Card zip code: (not pictured) you may be asked for your billing zip code.
After completing the transaction, you’ll be redirected to a confirmation page. Your account will be upgraded to Teacher Pro for one year, and the subscription will auto-renew annually unless you cancel it.

Option 2: Upgrade With an Activation Code
When an activation code is used, the account is upgraded to Teacher Pro for 12 months from the date of use — not from the date of purchase. Activation codes can only be used one time by one user.
From the account upgrade page, enter the activation code and click Activate.
A confirmation modal will pop up. Check the confirmation checkbox and click Confirm. Your account will be upgraded immediately for one year from today.
This action cannot be undone. Once a code is used, it can’t be reassigned to another user or refunded.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do activation codes come from?
Activation codes are typically purchased in bulk by schools, districts, or other organizations and distributed to individual teachers. If you don’t have one, you can either purchase Teacher Pro directly with a credit card or ask your school/district administrator whether codes are available.
If I upgrade with a credit card, will I be charged again next year?
Yes — the credit-card upgrade is an auto-renewing annual subscription. You can cancel auto-renew at any time; you’ll keep Teacher Pro access until the end of the paid year.
If I use an activation code, what happens after the year is up?
Your account reverts to a free account at the end of the 12 months. You can apply another activation code or purchase a credit-card subscription to continue.
What if my Teacher Pro expires — do I lose anything?
Your data stays put: classes, students, assessments, and scan history are all preserved. You just lose access to Teacher Pro-only features (standards alignment, performance bands, rubrics, higher scan limits) until you upgrade again.
