Managing Multiple Versions
This article will cover how to manage multiple versions for an assessment.
Assessment versions are managed from the assessment's question tab. When you are on the questions tab, you will see a versions bar directly under the assessment navigation bar. There is always going to be a default version, Version 1. The default version cannot be deleted.
Note, between different versions, the question order cannot be changed. You will be able to set different answers per question per version. This will apply to the multiple choice and numeric question types.
Note, versions are tied to the printed assessment sheet. Students will not be able to fill in a bubble to dynamically set their version on a scan sheet. However, teachers will be able to switch a students version after the results are scanned into the system.
Adding a New Assessment Version
To add a new version of your assessment, click on the Add version link.
After clicking on the add version link, a modal will popup asking how you want to add the new assessment version.
- Import answers: Allows you to define how you want to create the new version. If you choose to not import answers, the new version will not have any answers defined. If you choose to import answers from a previous version, the new version will be copied from the selected version.
- Save button: Once you have decided how you want to create the new version, click on the save button.
After creating the new version, you will see another version in the version bar. You can toggle between versions by simply clicking on that version in the version bar.
Removing an Existing Assessment Version
To delete an existing assessment version, go to the assessment questions tab. Once you are on the assessment's question tab, click on the version you wish to delete. Once you select the version you want to delete, click on the Remove version link.
After clicking on the remove version link, a confirmation modal will popup. Confirm the remove version action to complete the remove process.
Note, the default version, Version 1, cannot be delete. Only versions after version 1 can be deleted. Deleting a version will decrement the version number for any version that has a bigger number. For example, if you delete version 2, version 3 will now become version 2.
Any student tied to a deleted version will be switched to version 1. You will be able to switch students to another version after they have been scanned into the system.
