Manage Assessment Questions
This article walks through managing the questions on an assessment, and summarises the question types available.
Opening the Question Manager
From the dashboard, click the Assessments main-navigation option.
If you haven’t created an assessment yet, see Creating an Assessment first.
From the assessment list, find the assessment you want to edit. Either click the question count cell directly on the row, or open the row’s three-dot action menu and select View questions.
Adding Questions
On the question management page, click Add a question to open the add-question modal.
Fill in:
- Question type: pick from the available types (see the next section for what each one does).
- Quantity: how many questions of this type to add at once. PaperScorer will add that many identical placeholder questions for you to fill in.
Click save and the question(s) will appear on the assessment, ready for you to fill in the prompt text, answers, and any other type-specific settings.

NOTE: Free accounts have a cap on how many questions an assessment can contain. If you hit the limit, you’ll see a prompt to upgrade to Teacher Pro for higher limits.
Editing and Reordering
Each question on the assessment has its own controls for editing the prompt, setting the correct answer(s), attaching a rubric (Teacher Pro), and aligning to standards (Teacher Pro). You can drag the question handle to reorder.
Question stems are written in a rich-text editor that supports formatting — bold, italic, underline, and bulleted or numbered lists — and lets you insert images and equations directly into the prompt. See Adding Images and Equations to Question and Answer Text for the full details.
