Administration Guide - Optional Steps
This article will review the steps for connecting our Canvas specific app with your instance. These are the required steps and not required for connecting your Canvas instance with PaperScorer.
From the main Canvas dashboard page, click on the Admin main navigation options. This will pop open a sub-menu. On the sub-menu select the instance you want to connect to PaperScorer. Please note, the below screenshot is from our development instance. Your list will look different.
Once you click on the instance you want to connect to PaperScorer, you will be directing to the admin settings page for that instance. From there, click on the menu option Developer Keys.
From the settings page, you will click on the Apps tab.
Once you are on the Apps tab, you will need to search for the PaperScorer app. Please enter "PaperScorer" into the search bar. Our app should be the only in the app list. Click on the our app tile.
After clicking on our app tile, you will be brought to our app details page. Please click on the + Add App button.
Clicking on the + Add App button will bring up a modal to finalize the addition of the PaperScorer app. All fields are required to finalize adding the PaperScorer app.
- Consumer Key (required): You can find the consumer key in the connection you created in the required Canvas integration steps. Copy and paste the consumer key value into this field.
- Shared Secret (required): You can find the shared secret in the connection you created in the required Canvas integration steps. Copy and paste the consumer secret value into this field.
- Click the Add App button to complete this step.

Once you finish all these steps, the PaperScorer app will be considered "installed". There should be a PaperScorer link on each course that will redirect your users to the PaperScorer app. If they haven't created an account on the PaperScorer app, they will be prompted to do so with most information pre-filled. If they have created an account before, they will be logged directly into the app.
